The new alliance schedules now in effect, while this week’s collision in the North Sea has the potential to cause delays in the coming days.

As we move into Spring, the new alliance schedules are now in place. Departures are running as planned, but the key question is whether arrival times will remain on schedule. With the end of March approaching, the industry is watching closely to see if service reliability holds steady.

North Sea Vessel Collision Potential Delays

You will have heard in the news this week about the collision between a cargo ship and an oil vessel 10 miles off the coast of Hull. This incident has impacted operations at Hull and Immingham ports, causing some disruption.

While PFE does not use these ports directly, they are included in some Grangemouth feeder rotations, meaning there is potential for delays on Grangemouth feeder routes. We are aware that some cargo is scheduled to arrive in Grangemouth in the coming weeks, and this may be affected. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will contact any customers directly if their cargo is impacted.

Strikes in Pakistan Causes Port Congestion

A labour strike at Port Qasim, Karachi has caused significant disruption this week, with employees protesting over unpaid bonuses ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The demonstration led to road blockages, heavy congestion, and partial suspension of container movements, impacting terminal operations.

The situation remains unresolved as protesting employees have vowed to continue until their demands are met. We are closely monitoring developments and will provide updates as soon as received.
